Following ten years as a practitioner in Watford, Hertfordshire, he found his voice as an organiser and administrator when he took over from John Beard as the NCP’s Secretary in 1993. He identified the need very early on for Hypnotherapy to attain recognition as a separate profession from other forms of Psychotherapy, Psychology and Counselling and in the intervening years has played a pivotal role in attempting to bring this about. He is the current Registrar of the General Hypnotherapy Register, Secretary to the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council and Co-Facilitator of the Working Group for Hypnotherapy Regulation. William now lives in Lymington, Hampshire on the edge of The New Forest, with his wife June. who has shared the administrative workload every step of the way. He is co-compiler & editor (with his wife) of “The Directory of Hypnotherapy Practitioners (UK & Ireland)” 2000 - 2003, published by Sway House.
